How to get healthy and make money. 20+ ways that make a difference to your wallet. The Rising Damsel #health #earn #burn #wallet #finance #workout #healthylife
Never too rich or too thin. If you need some extra cash check out these side jobs that will keep your body moving. With these get fit jobs you can earn more money while you get in shape.

First, think outside the box as to where you can advertise your services. Perhaps start with your local gym, grocery store, coffee shop, recreation center, church, community center, school and library.

Online communities are great. Look on Facebook and see if your neighborhood and or school has a group page.  Often times you can buy, sell and trade on online boards. Within a centralized community, people are more apt to interact with each other and inquire about potential services offered.

Check community rules before you start papering the neighborhoods. Remember that your phone number is on the paperwork, so you don’t want to get on people’s bad side. Create your fliers using Picmonkey and use BOLD font to attract attention.

1. Garage Sale Looter

You can clean up at a garage sale! Stock up on all sorts of odds and ends to sell as craft bundles on Etsy or Ebay. At one garage sale, I found 15 enamel brooches, circa 1990s for literally $1. To this day, I still wonder how much they would have fetched had I resold them on Ebay. You can get better deals at garage sales than at thrift stores, and… you can haggle! If you have a little skill, you can refurbish furniture and resell it. Spend some extra time going through the piles of old books and you might find a gem! Levi’s jeans always get a good price on Ebay and  you can usually snag them for .50 cents. When your goal is exercise, it’s not a waste of time to get your butt moving around the neighborhood block on garage sale days.

2. Singer/ Party Planner

The most adorable birthday party I’ve ever been to featured Cinderella. It was a fairytale fantasy come to life complete with glitter wishes, etiquette, and face painting. If you can sing a Disney song, have a great costume and the ability to paint your face up into a beautiful princess…you have the ability to make any little girls’ dream come true. Create little games to get the kids moving. Bring glitter, choreograph a couple of songs and …voila! You are in business. An hour-long party can net you up to $150.00 cash dollars. Parents are always willing to  spend money on their kids, and they will appreciate you taking care of the entertainment!

3. Door to Door Sales

This is often advertised as ‘marketing’ and pyramid schemes are quite prevalent. It’s super easy to get hired on and there are no shortages of people needed. You can walk upwards of 10 miles a day. With some diligence, and a little friendly sale persuasion, you will be on your way to some nice cash.

Ready to change your life and take your financial future into your own hands? Starting a blog is the best way to grab that freedom. Run your own advertisements, sign up for affiliate networks and start pulling in money doing what you love. Use my guide to take the mystery out of WordPress and Bluehost. Start Your Own Blog with Bluehost.  The only thing to regret is not starting sooner.

4. House Painting

Up and down the ladder…house painting, in or outdoors is a total body workout. Invest in some knee pads if you are planning on doing this for the Summer. You’ll also need a ladder, tarps, brushes and rollers. You can make some serious cash with just a few jobs.

5. Artist/ Jewelry Maker

If you have artistic skills put them to use! Go on a hike and find a beautiful mountain scene. You can experience art while you are creating it! Etsy is a great place to post your creations almost free of charge! Through instant downloads, you can start with almost no startup costs.

When I found Fire Mountain Gems…. my life changed. No joke. You get wholesale prices after  you buy 100 items. This is easily  accomplished when bead packs are just 25 cent. This site also has been the best source of silver and gold chains and wire that I have found.  For instance, I have 101 units and 79 items in my bag. My cost is $179.00 with a ‘all-assortable’ savings of $185.00.

6. Carpentry

Any builder or construction worker will tell you that carpentry is a workout. Earn money by helping a friend. Install new drywall, or help to build a fence or deck…or  even install siding. More and more people are diy-ing their homes. The more projects you help with…. the more of an aficionado you become.

7. Dog Walker

A lot of people have pets that sit at home in kennels all day. Start out by asking your friends if they think their animal needs some exercise during the day. You are a trusted friend and that is priceless. Everyone loves their pet, however most people assume that these services are out of their price range. Clean up animal yard messes. People love their pets, but who wants to deal with responsibility? This can be added as a combination service if you are also walking the animal during the day.

8. House Cleaning

You can make yourself a very lucrative career in housecleaning. My aunt’s maid still makes more than I do to this day. Advertise in more exclusive neighborhoods and boast all natural products. Include add-on products for your customers such as carpet cleaning, yard pick up or basic meal prep. Office cleaning is another option. When you are vacuuming, alternate which hand you use so both sides of your body get a workout. Try doing this as often as possible with dusting, window cleaning, mopping and scrubbing.

9. Lawn Mowing

Earn money by mowing or save your own money and mow your own lawn. You’ll definitely get a sweat up! Make sure and slather yourself up with sunscreen and get a large sun hat to decrease exposure. Wearing ankle weights will help to tone your calves and hamstrings.

Quick Tip! Looking to spend less?

Healthy food gets a bad wrap for being expensive. However I would challenge you to stop buying processed, and start making more home cooked meals. This will have a positive impact on your wallet and your family.

I use Amazon fresh. If you have access to Amazon food delivery service, it’s worth the effort to do a cost analysis. Things to consider: gas, your time and purchase cost (which all add up). With AmazonFresh food delivery, you can skip the physical shopping hassle, avoid the lines and save money by not being tempted by impulse buying.

10. Planting a Garden

Hauling anything will help you burn through the calories. In the Summer, friends are willing to shill out for help. A wheelbarrow full of rock will get your biceps burning. Get paid to do this or volunteer. If you are helping your community enrich itself and take steps towards healthier living it’s a win!

11. Moving Helper

Be sure and practice good posture and proper lifting techniques to avoid hurting yourself. Moving often involves flights of stairs, heavy boxes, and walking which are all great to get your body moving.

12. Running Errands / Elderly Aid

Some people are incapacitated and are unable to get to the grocery store. Advertise your services in a Church or elderly community. Whenever you are running errands, park as far away from the store front as possible to get some extra steps.  For safety’s sake, always park with your driver’s side door towards the business. With a quick background check you can easily become an elderly aid. This is definitely work for caring folks. There are different functions you can perform anywhere from the likes of  running errands, to companionship, to overnight stays.

Ibotta will help you save big on groceries. With Ibotta you just snap a picture of your shopping receipt and match it with current deals available online. Get $10 just for signing up through The Rising Damsel, and redeem your first purchase by verifying an item from ANY of their stores.

13. Waitress/Catering/Hostess

As a previous waitress I can tell you, you’re constantly running and trays are heavy. My mom wore her pedometer and clocked 16 miles a day in a busy bbq restaurant as a hostess. Virtually no qualifications necessary, aside from a friendly demeanor. Cash on the spot is definitely a great thing. It’s a super side job.Get Healthy and Make Money. Tips to Earn and Burn. The Rising Damsel #active #money #save #hustle #earnings

14. Car Washing

‘Wax on wax off’ from the iconic Karate Kid movie not only taught patience, it strengthened your arm muscles. Make sure and alternate hands so that both sides of your body get an even workout.

15. City Tour Director

Sign up with a tour company to give walking tours of your city. You will be out enjoying life and educating people on a city you love.

16. Snow Removal

Get that snow shovel out! If you’re an early bird, people will pay good money not to get out of bed. You can burn up to 400 calories for an hour of shoveling.

17. Babysitter/ Nanny

Let me just tell you how tempted I was to quit my recruiting job to make $200 a day as a nanny. Within 5 minutes of reading the ad, I had visions of being a nanny heiress watching children in Paris. This really is a possibility for nannies, as parents need to travel. If only I had the patience for kids :).

Craigslist and University websites with job ads will be your best bets at success here. You can be selective and even if it’s not $200 a day, it will most likely be comparable to what daycares go for in your neighborhood. In my area, a daycare that doesn’t exceed $600.00 a week is deemed as “baby fight clubs” by radio personalities. Definitely leaves a lot to be desired for our daycare system. A huge bonus is that moms want their children to have interaction, so  you may even be able to bring your own little one along.

When kids are involved, it’s easy to get your workout in. Kids like to play, boy do they like to play! Give that child backyard or a park and you will be running all over the place! If you’re looking to get some ‘play’ exercise, give them a workout complete with burpees and jumping jacks.  Be sneaky a cat by playing cats crawling around. If the child would enjoy it, teach some basic yoga poses that also assist with relaxation. Bonus for the parents!

18. Tree Trimmer

Always be on the look-out for seasonal labor jobs. These oftentimes pay well as they require strength and stamina.

19. Home Sitter

With TrustedHouseSitters you can travel all over the world, watch someone’s pet and stay in their house for free. Walk around the house make sure everything is in order. Pick up the yard. Go above and  beyond as you will surely get another call and recommendation…and get that body moving to burn up some calories.

20. Shop and Stock Refrigerators

With the  stores service of grocery pickup, this got a lot easier for you! Older people might not be aware of this offering. Gather lists from your customers and use a grocery service to increase your productivity!

21. Handyman/ woman

If you are handy, take out an ad or put up a flier advertising your skills! Craigslist is a great spot, as is the local bulletin board at a school, convention hall or gym.

22. Assistant photographer

As an assistant photographer, your duties could range from holding up a shade screen, to squeezing a ducky to keep a child happy. You’ll be on your feet and you’ll be moving around for at least an hour! If you’re lucky, you might get to go on a little hike for a scenic shoot. Even if you aren’t an assistant photographer, get out there and take pictures. Plenty of websites like stockphoto.com will pay you when someone downloads one of your snaps.

23. Personal Trainer

The American Council on Exercise or ‘ACE’ is your best resource for becoming a personal trainer. Motivate others to live a healthy lifestyle while getting in shape yourself. If this is a passion of yours, there’s nothing stopping you from converting your basement into a gym and taking on at home clients! If yoga is more your style, Yogafit from the Yoga Alliance is a program recognized by ACE as its premier yoga certifying class. You can put up flyers for your ‘Park Bootcamp’. All you need is a small group of participants, some cones and jump ropes.

Remember! Community colleges, Universities, and ‘Free Universities’ are geared towards life skills are often times looking for instructors. If you’re still feeling stumped about where you can advertise, check to see if your neighborhood has a monthly HOA newsletter that goes out.

Nice to hear about tips on how to have more money 🙂 Not just in your workplace but also in your surrounding. You can also plan some vegetables instead of buying in the market. At least, you’ll know they’re organic and fresh since it is planted in your backyard.

This is a great list! I babysit on the side, and it’s great. In addition to making extra money, I get to hang out with some pretty awesome kids. I also agree with the healthy eating. Although it may take more out of my wallet initially, it will be better for me financially, and physically, if I start making more meals at home!
