An SEO Friendly Title
Be upfront with how your post will add value to your reader’s life! Post titles should be around 70 characters long and contain a few great keywords as well. Using a question and solution is an excellent way to grab a reader’s attention.
Next, make sure that internet browsers are able to easily find it. That means ‘search engine optimization’. My go-to SEO for help is Yoast. With Yoast you can easily optimize your post title, meta description, slug, keywords, and readability.
Unique Ideas and Great Content
Have a purpose when you start a post. Are you attempting to motivate your reader? Are you sharing information? What is your call to action? Have these in mind before you start writing. You should be doing a lot of research before you even title your post. Actual experience gives your site authenticity that shows your uniqueness.
Make sure that you are editing your posts thoroughly. The last thing you want is a pile of run on sentences. I was told to read my sentences out loud to catch any grammatical errors. Grammarly is what really saves my bacon though. They offer a free portion of their program. It’s definitely worth signing up for, works like a charm every time.
Vegas casinos are notorious for creating a maze to keep patrons indoors and gambling, create this for your reader through links! Give readers options to keep reading, clicking. You want an involved reader. Make yourself sticky by providing lots of interesting, resourceful material. A few simple links to other similar posts is all you need.
Attention Grabbing Pictures
Pictures give your blog character and help to make your site memorable. Bright colors in photos help to liven up a technical blog and make it more welcoming. Create 3-5 pins per post. Editing all of my photos using Picmonkey and their templates makes my life infinitely easier, I highly suggest the program. I absolutely love using FREE stock photos too, my go-to site is Pexels.
Remember to always include your pin’s description in the ‘alt text’ when adding a photo to your site. This will aid search engines in finding your site with added keywords. Alt text will be the text that shows up in your pinterest descriptions.
Share Everywhere Possible
Get your post out there! Pinterest, Twitter, and facebook are a great place to start. Link your post wherever you can. Commenting on another blog? Share your website name in your signature when commenting on other blogs. Get creative, contact companies, let them know you are writing about them and promoting them!
